In the given triangle ABC, AD 1 BC. AB = 13 cm, BD = 5 cm, DC = 4 cm. Find the value of: (i) AD (ii) tan x cot y

1) AB²=AD²+BD²(Pythagoras theorem)

13²=Ad²+5²

On simplifying....

AD=12cm
