In the mononitration of phenyl methanoate why does NO2 occur only at para position and not at ortho position (pg. 334, Example 11.5)?

It has a short shelf life so it is very unstable
It has a formula of C6H5OCOH and its nitration is not feasible to carry out, but it is still performed and the product is meta element

Phenyl methanoate is a compound having very less shelf- life. So, it is very unstable. Its formula is C6 H5 OCOH. Its nitration is practically not feasible to carry out.
But still if nitration is carried out, then it will give meta product.
In NCERT textbook, formula of phenyl methanoate is given wrong.
