In the movie Wall-E, Wall-E is left behind on Earth to clean up the waste disposed of by humans. If Wall-E is working in an area that contains 24,000 tons of waste and it takes him 2 years to clean up ¼ of the waste, how much waste would Wall-E have cleaned up after cleaning for 4 years?

Waste cleaned up in 2 yrs ,

1/4 x 24000 = 6000 tons .
Thus in four years

2(6000) = 12,000 tons
