Given :

  • In a parallelogram PQRS,
  • PQ = 8 cm
  • QR = 5 cm

To Find :

  • The perimeter of the parallelogram.

Solution :

As we know that, opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal.

 \dashrightarrow \: \: \bf  \: PQ =  RS   =  8  \: cm \:

 \dashrightarrow \: \: \bf  \: QR =  PS  =  5  \: cm \:

Now calculating the perimeter,

Formula :

  •  \underline{ \boxed{ \rm{Perimeter_{(parallelogram)} = 2(a + b) }}}

Inserting the values,

 \dashrightarrow \: \: \bf \: Perimeter_{(parallelogram)} = 2(8 + 5) \: cm \\

 \dashrightarrow \: \: \bf \: Perimeter_{(parallelogram)} = 2 \times 13 \: cm \\

 \dashrightarrow \:  \: \underline{ \boxed{ \bf{ \blue{ Perimeter_{(parallelogram)} = 26 \: cm}}}}  \\

 \therefore \:  \underline{ \sf{Perimeter \: of \: the \: parallelogram \: = \bf{26 \: cm} }} \\
