In the photoelectric effect, what happens to the electron if the work function is too low?

if the work function of any metal is too low than its easier to eject a electron from metal surface i.e. light with less wavelegth could be used for ejection of electron.
as hv>hv0(work function)

i.e. if hv0 is too low electron will be ejected easily
