Explanation: thye stem is supporting the plant and helping it to stand upright, unlike some other plants. the root is helping to absorb minerals and water. the water takes place in the photosynthesis reaction, from which the plant gets its food or in other words energy.

Some plants are not able to stand upright because-

  • The stem is the part of the plant that helps the plant to grow straight by providing support to it. But, Stems are weak in some plants and hence, these plants do not stand upright. These plants require some support to stand upright.
  • Examples include creepers and climbers. The creepers such as watermelons grow by spreading along the ground due to weak stems. Similarly, climbers such as grapevines have also weak stems and hence, they climb with the help of some support and grow vertically.
