‘After Blenheim’ is a poem written Robert Southey on the consequences of the the famous battle of Blenheim.

It is in the form of a conversation between an old farmer, Kaspar, and his grandchildren, Wilhelmine and Peterkin.

Battle of Blenheim

It was fought in 1704 between Franco-Bavarian army and England and its Allies at Blenheim in Southern Germany.

The Duke of Marlboro & Prince Eugene who fought for Britain won the battle.  So Kaspar praises the Duke and the Prince for having defeated the French after a long struggle.
