They poetess is trying to compare a twig with ideas... If we nourish a twig then it will grow into a healthy shrub else it will shrivel and be wasted, thrown away.... Likewise if ideas are nourished then poetry can be created. The name 'The Poem' with the content being that of a twig.. Is able to bring out the connection of the central idea Amy Lowell wants to convey..Hence the title is justified.
