in the poem "SNAKE" the poet say " I HAVE SOMETHING TO EXPATIATE" 
because he regrets for his mischief behavior towards the snake who just came from inner most core of earth (volcanic zone) to cure his thrust .

In poem snake, the poet says that he has something to expiate bcs, he feel regreted for his deed that he hurted the snake which deserved respect by thowing a log over it. Realizing that it was the voice of education which persuaded him to do so, he thinks of making an alteration in the educational values. Hence it is education that he has to expiate
