as he had misbehaved with snake when snake was drinking the water poet has thrown a Log on snake so he regret himself and to express his feelings had said I have something to expatiate

In poem snake, the poet says that he has something to expiate bcs, he feel regreted for his deed that he hurted the snake which deserved respect by thowing a log over it. Realizing that it was the voice of education which persuaded him to do so, he thinks of making an alteration in the educational values. Hence it is education that he has to expiate
