Substance oxidized : HCl

Substance reduced : MnO2

Oxidizing agent: : MnO2

Reducing agent : HCl

here oxidation means gaining of oxygen and reduction means losing of oxygen

b) In the given reaction MnO2 is reduced and HCl is oxidised. MnO2 is reduced by reducing agent HCl and the HCl is oxidised by the oxidising agent MnO2
