Yes, the same force is exerted by the body on us as newton's third law of motion states that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and this law holds true every where.
It not necessary that we will be set to opposite motion because the mass of the body will be much small as compared to our mass so there is more displacement in the body but neglegible displacement in us.
