At first mister Oliver is angry with the child to be out at that time of the night so late.As soon as he notices that the child was weeping ,in a strange soundless manner  .

Mr Oliver was an Anglo-Indian teacher,who was teaching in school, located three miles away from shimla. He used to walk down every evening to the shimla Bazaar and return after dark by taking a shortcut through the pine forest.
