It is the short story. R.K Narayan had written the story of “The trail of green blazer”.
Raju was a robber. He came to the city for the purpose of robbery. He tried to snatch the pocket of a man in the green blazer. When he went for robbery and came close to that man, he observed that man was so kind for the children.
He picked his pocket and there were only Rs. 30 in his pocket.
Raju realized that he did wrong act of robbery because he observed that man was so kind and he inspired by him. The man gifted some balloons to that child.
He tried that he put that purse in the pocket of man again. But when he tried to do this the man caught him.
Nobody believed that child and was jailed.
In the story "Trail of Green Blazer" by R.K.Naryan, the possible different end could be:
- Raju, the central character had accepted pickpocketing as his occupation as he had a wife and child to feed. When he took the wallet of the man in the Green blazer and then got to know that the balloon was there for a child inside he returned the wallet though took money from it and just returned the balloon but got caught and was punished and was put into prison for more than eighteen months.
- In the actual end after being imprisoned, he had no feeling of remorse and rather concluded that he will carry on pickpocketing and will never return anything.
- The different possible end could be that after coming out of jail, he would have self-realised that pickpocketing is a serious crime and he should not continue with it and rather feel disappointed and should have a feeling of remorse for the heinous crime committed.
- He should search for some other jobs, should start life afresh and live a happy and safe life with his wife and child. He should understand that pickpocketing will not do him any good in life but rather it shall land him in trouble and shall create a negative effect on his and his child's entire life.
