To stitch a shirt, 2m 15cm cloth is needed. Out of 40 m cloth how many shirts can be stitched and how much cloth will remain?

Answer:

total cloth = 40m = 4000cm

for 1 shirt = 2.15m = 215cm

so, number of shirts that can be made = 4000/215

Here, quotient = 18

remainder =  130

Therefore, 18 shirts can be made

Also, 130/100 = 1.3 m cloth will remain.
