In these questions a relationship between different elements is shown in the statements.
The statements are followed by two conclusions numbered I and II.

Statement : Z < H, U >= W, H = U, W > P
Conclusions : I. Z <= W II. H > P

Give answer

a) if only conclusion I is true.
b) if only conclusion II is true.
c) if either conclusion I or II is true.
d) if neither conclusion I nor II is true.

Answer

b) If only conclusion II is true

Explanation

Given statement

Z < H

U ≥ W

H = U

W > P

Conclusion

I) Z ≤ W

II) H > P

\rule{100}2

We will check for conclusion I first

Z < H and H = U

⇒ Z < U

And, U ≥ W

So we can not say that Z ≤ W

Hence, conclusion I is wrong

(Suppose U is 4, Z is 3 and W is 2. Here, Z < U and U > W but Z is not less than W)

Now we will check for conclusion II

W > P

U ≥ W

⇒ U ≥ W > P

⇒ U > P

and H = U

⇒ H > P

Hence conclusion II is true.

So, conclusion I is false and Conclusion II is true

Hence option b) if only conclusion II is true is our answer
