Further, trees, buildings, etc on the surface of the Earth appear to be at rest but infact they are in motion as the Earth revolves around the Sun. Thus, there is no object which can be condisered to be at absolute rest. Hence, rest and motion are relative terms.

Answer: no, there is not.

Explanation: According to the concept of relative velocity, if we try to visualise things ; we would see that there is not one thing that is stationary or at rest. To clarify it, let's take an example..Imagine..

Suppose two kids are playing on the ground. And there's a stone on the ground. If we look at the stone with the perspective of those kids; the stone might seem to be at rest but kids might seem to be in motion for you. But there is a bitter truth behind it. :\ which one has to get used to.

Although we are on the earth, but if we take a step back and look again we can realise that the earth isn't stationary. It is revolving around the sun continuously. And now, if we look at those kids and the stone from the perspective of the sun, although we thought before that the stone was stationary and the kids weren't, now it's not at all true.

Every thing is moving ; each and everything has a velocity, which definitely means everything is in motion...whether it's the atom or the galaxies.

Hope it helps.... :)
