The corresponding angles  ∠ ADE = ∠ABC, ∠AED=∠ACB

If CD = 3 cm, EC = 4 cm, and BE = 6 cm,

⇒  $\frac{AB}{AD} = \frac{AC}{AE}$

⇒ $\frac{AD}{3} = \frac{6}{4}$
