The triangle will be isosceles, since if two angles of a triangle are equal, the sides opposite to them are also equal.

Proof (using sine rule):

If A = B, from sine rule,

2RsinA = a, and 2RsinB = b

But, A = B, therefore,

a = b = 2RsinA = 2RsinB.
