draw a diagram like this
here AP = 2cm
PB = 6cm
AP/PB = 2/6 = 1/3
AQ = 3cm
QC = 9cm
AQ/QC = 3/9 = 1/3
AP/PB = AQ/QC
So, here ∆APQ is similar to ∆ABC
so, PQ/BC = 1/3
PQ×3 = BC
