Value of DB = 8 cm in triangle DEW which has AB|| EW

Solution:

Given:  

AD = 4cm

DE = 12cm  

DW = 24cm

AE = DE – AD = 12 – 4 = 8

Using the BPT theorem we can see that the value of \frac{D A}{A E}=\frac{D B}{B W}

\begin{array}{l}{\frac{4}{8}=\frac{D B}{B W}} \\ \\{\frac{1}{2}=\frac{D B}{B W}}\end{array}

DB = 2BW

BW = DW – BW  

BW = 24 – DB

Substituting value of DB = 2BW

We get 3DB = 24

DB = 8.

Value of DB = 8 cm in triangle DEW which has AB|| EW
