from 1st alloy = copper_8kg, zinc_2kg
from 2nd alloy=copper_4kg,zinc_12kg
total weight=(26+x) kg
2
--- ×(26+x) = 14

52+2x=70
2x=18
x=9kg
total weight=26+9= 35kg

weight of the new alloy = 35 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

two alloys copper and zink are related in the ratio of 4:1 and 1:3

10 kg of 1st alloy

Copper = (4/5) * 10  = 8 kg

Zinc  = (1/5) * 10 = 2 kg

16 kg of 2nd alloy

Copper = (1/4) * 16  = 4 kg

Zinc = (3/4) * 16  = 12 kg

Let say Weight added of Copper = C kg

Then total copper = 8 + 4 + c = 12 + C  kg

Total Zinc = 2 + 12 = 14 kg

ratio of copper to zinc was 3:2

=> (12 + C)/14  = 3/2

=> 12 +C = 21

=> C = 9

pure copper added = 9 kg

Total Weight = 10 + 16 + 9  = 35 kg

weight of the new alloy = 35 kg
