In van der Waal’s equation of state for a non-ideal gas, the

term that accounts for intermolecular forces is (P + a/V²)

- the van der waals equation is (P+an²/V²) × (V-nb) = RT

- these terms an²/V² and nb were introduced by van der waals into the ideal gas equation to remove its demerits and apply it in the real life

- this term takes into account the volume of gas molecules which in turn provides a measure of the intermolecular forces

-if we take 1 mole of gas, the equation becomes (P+ a/V²) × (V-b) --so the correct option is (c)
