"The standard unit of power of lenses is Dioptres. It is related with the focal length of the lens as P= 1/ focal length of the lens.

Therefore if the focal length of the lens is 50cm, then the power of the lens is given as 1/50 Dioptres, which comes as 0.02 Dioptres.

Therefore the net power of the lens can be expressed as 0.02 D.

Answer:"The standard unit of power of lenses is Dioptres. It is related with the focal length of the lens as P= 1/ focal length of the lens.

Therefore if the focal length of the lens is 0.5m, then the power of the lens is given as 1/0.5 Dioptres, which comes as 2 Dioptres.

Therefore the net power of the lens can be expressed as 2 D.
