Let common multiple for the ratio be x. Therefore, money distributed: => smaller amount = Rs 2x => larger amount = Rs. 4x But smaller amount = Rs. 1256 => 2x = 1256 => x = 628 Therefore larger amount = 4x = 4(638) = Rs. 2552

QwertyZoom: I miscalculated the last multiplication... it's supposed to be 2512.

so, 4/2=jacks money/ jons money
4/2=x/$1256
x=$1256*4/2
x=$2512
