it was a taboo for Brahmin to cross overseas but the British passed this act in 1856 stating that the Indians could go overseas on duty only hence it hurt the feelings of Indians

As per this act indian soldiers could be sent overseas on duty.the act didnot take into account the sentiment of the Indian soldiers and the Brahmin soldiers see in this adanger to their caste.this led to the feeling of resentment among them
