in what way longer form of periodic table is better than modern periodic table?

the longer form of preiodic table is based upon electronic configuration of the elements.....it keeps all the elements with similar electronic configuration under each other. in the same vertical column groups are these vertical columns. on the other hand,periodic are horizontal rows.
