Carpel is unit of 'gynoecium' which is the female reproductive whorl of the flower while stamen is the unit of 'androecium' which is the male reproductive whorl of the flower. Carpel consist of three parts namely stigma, style and ovary while stamen consist of two parts namely anther and the filament.
