Though the Royal Indian Navy revolt was suppressed by the British, it paved the way for further revolts. The resolve amongst Indians to drive away the British from India, strengthened.
It was a revolt by Indian sailors of the Royal Indian Navy, on 18 February 1946, on board ships and at establishments on shore. It spread throughout British India and involved several thousands of sailors, ships and shore establishments.
