First of all, this modern war would take a long time, because almost no one would want to use nuclear weapons. The reason is, if they both launch nuclear weapons at each other, and they have the same sized cities and everything, both countries would suffer. This is why the United States and Soviet Union avoided launching nuclear weapons.
It would basically be a repeat of World War II, until one country finds an advantage over the other.
But if those countries were stupid enough to launch nuclear missiles at each other, it would take even longer because now both countries are crippled and when you fight crippled, you can’t move as fast as before and you take longer to produce war materials.
But hopefully, after they launch nuclear weapons, they will most likely sign a treaty.
Many lives would be lost, regardless. That’s why we have the United Nations to keep peace.
