in what ways does squamous epithelium differ from columnar epithelium?

squamous epithilium -

cells are pillar like
are present in the inner lining of intestine wall and respiratory tract
function is secretion of mucous and absorption of digested food.

columnar epithilium -

cells are present in thin , delicate and flat lining
present in the lining of mouth , oesophagus and skin
function is mainly protection.

COLUMNAR
1.the tall epithelial cells present in inner lining of intestine are covered with tall epithilial cells called columnar epthelium
2.It facilitates the movement across epithelial barrier
