What abstraction means is focusing on only necessary properties and filtering out the rest of properties.
Consider an example of ATM machine. We can withdraw money, view balance etc. i.e, we are looking only at the things which are important to us, and the rest of the things (like how the entire process happens, how money comes out etc ) is hidden to us.
This is abstraction.
