●Indo gangetic plains are formed due to the alluvial soil deposited by the perennial rivers like Indus, Ganga and Brahmaputra.
Location:
●Indo gangetic plains lies at the foot hills of the Himalayas. whereas Deccan Plateau lies in the Peninsular India.
Rivers:
●The rivers in Indo-gangetic plains are perennial and the rivers in Deccan Plateau are not perennial.
Rainfall:
●The main source of rainfall in Indo-gangetic plains is the Southwest monsoon which is normally sufficient for general agriculture.In Deccan Plateau the rainfall is low.Since situated in the leeward side of Western Ghats.It is not sufficient for agriculture.
Soils:
●The major soil found in the plains is Alluvial and the major soil present in Deccan Plateau is black soil.
Agriculture:
