The Swadesh Movement had its beginning in the counter parcel development which was expressed to restrict the British decision to divide Bengal. On August 7, 1905, with the entry of Boycott Resolution in a gigantic meeting held in the Calcutta Townhall, the formal announcement of Swadeshi Movement was made.
