In terms of supremacy Supreme Court is the apex court and enjoys a supremacy over all such courts in the territory of india. However, the jurisdiction and power to grant relief of high court are much more broader that that of supreme court. For writs, the supreme court can be approached only if there exists a case under the 5 writs provided under art. 32, howover HC can be approached even the said legal case is outside the purview of the 5 writs.
