when a body travels in a straight path on linear path at that moment is the body continuous to be in that state then the distance and displacement becomes equal as because the direction the body is travelling is equal and obviously distress will be equal to displacement as it travels at the same path so if you want examples consider highway where many cars are going but irrespective of traffic jam so here distance and displacement can be equal if you consider some points a and b from initial to final so here is route distance and displacement can we call and it is only possible when both are travelling at a particular direction

distance covered in only ever equal to the magnitude of displacement if the direction component of the object lost is constant that is, as long as the object travels in a straight line, without doubling back when distance = displacement .
