Striated or striped muscle fibers show light and dark bands.
• Striated muscles are made with elongated muscle fibers those are generally called it as Cardiac muscles.
• Myofibrils contain proteins called actin and myosin. These two proteins represent the light and dark bands.
• The light band contains actin protein this is called an isotropic band or I -band.
• The dark band contains myosin that is called A-band or Anisotropic band.
• Stripped muscles or striated muscles continuously changing the bands of actin and myosin.
• That's why we can see light and dark bands in Striated muscles.
