Velocity of sound is most in solid medium.

As a solid medium allows more compressions and rarefactions, so a wave can travel easily and speedily through it. Moreover density of a solid is much more and intermolecular space is very less, so sound waves (longitudinal waves) can travel faster

For eg, if a train is approaching, you can hear it's sound by placing your ears on the tracks...because sound travels FASTER in solids.
