Heya,

Base of an isosceles triangle = 10cm
Perimeter = 36cm

》 We know that isosceles triangle has 2 equal sides and one inequal side (i.e base)

So let's assume,

Equal sides = x

To find the equal side o's the isosceles triangle,

Perimeter = a + b + c
36 = x + x + 10
36 - 10 = 2x
26 = 2x
26/2 = x
13 = x

Therefore,
a = 13cm
b = 13cm
c = 10cm

s = P/2
s = 36/2
s = 18

Using herons formula,

Area = √s (s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
Area = √18 (18 - 13)(18 - 13)(18 - 10)
Area = √18 × 5 × 5 × 8
Area = √3 × 3 × 2 × 5 × 5 × 2 × 2 × 2
Area = 3 × 2 × 5 × 2
Area = 60cm^2

Hope my answer helps you :)

Regards,
Shobana
