The stomach is where the bacteria are killed present in the food. The hydrochloric acid produced by the gastric glands in the walls of the stomach kill these bacteria and virus which may have entered along with the food that we consume. So, it's actually inside the stomach that these harmful microbes get killed and the food is further sent to the small intestine through the peptic sphincter.
