Indian painting, sculpture and terracotta flourished during the Medieval Period from the eighth to the eighteenth century.

Painting - It was an important art-form during this period. Palaces and temples were decorated with murals. Painters were patronized by the kings and other rich people. Painting reached perfection under the Mughals. Miniature painting reached high levels of refinement under Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. These paintings were generally done on paper and sometimes on cloth.

Sculpture - The temples had beautiful images of gods and goddesses. The monuments were decorated with beautifully carved sculptures.

Terracotta - In Bengal the monuments were made with bricks and the decoration was done in terracotta. The outer walls of the temples were covered with terracotta tiles which depicted scenes from the epics.
