The Congress leaders believe in the Gandhi Ji's principle of Sarvodaya. The “Indian National Congress” or INC was based on the same principle.

The meaning of Sarvodaya is 'improvement and upliftment of all the Indian citizen regardless of their caste, religion, sex, etc., in seeking liberty, social justice, equality, welfare, and secularism".

It is the first Indian political party founded in the year 1885 by "Allan Octavian Hume", "Dadabhai Naoroji", and "Dinshaw Wacha".
