Diffusion occurs in every state of matter.
Examples-
gas-
Air is a mixture of gases.
liquid-
ink diffuses into water.
solid-
though very slow, diffusion occurs in solids too.
If you write something on a blackboard and leave it for 4 to 5 YEARS, ( yes, years) the chalk will diffuse on it.
*NOTE* - Many books say that diffusion doesn't occurs in solids just bcoz it is not in your syllabus but it is true that it occurs at a very very very slow rate.
Hope it helps you

Answer:
The movement of molecules from a region of high concentration to region of low concentration is called diffusion. It occurs in all three states of matter. Examples-
1) You can smell perfume because it diffuses into the air and makes its way into your nose.
2) Placing food coloring in a liquid will diffuse the color.
3) Exchange of oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases in our body by cells.
