Fallowing are two ways, by which the spread of Enlightenment thought contributed to the French Revolution.

1.  The Enlightenment movement supported the equality and liberty. It was against the absolute monarchy and divine rights of king. So it inspired the revolutionaries of France.

2. The ideas of Enlightened philosophers like Locke, Montesquieu, Voltaire greatly inspired the French revolutionaries. They were against the absolute monarchy and supported separation of powers (Montesquieu). They were in favor of equality, secularism, rights and liberty.
