BRICS is an association of countries of four continents. Before the entry of South Africa, it was called by acronym BRIC only.
1. South Africa joined BRICS in 2010 ( to be more precise- 24 Dec, 2010)
2. BRICS contain five Countries:
Brazil
Russia
India
China
South Africa
3. Now it must have been clear that at first there were only four countries and South Africa was added in 2010. The first BRIC Summit was held in 2009 in Yekaterinburg in Russia.
4. Ninth BRICS summit was hosted by china in Xiamen on September 3 to 5 in 2017.
