On 15 August 1947, after attaining the Independence, another supreme court was constructed in Shimla. This took care of three states certain Punjab, Delhi and what are currently Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Due to certain problem faced by the people, this court was moved to Chandigarh on 17th January 1955.
