in winter, people generally sit around a fire.how does they get heat

in our surroundings water vapours are present everywhere.. so when we lit fire then it makes the water vapour hot and when these gases touches us we feel warm.

in winter when we sit around the fire we get heat as the cold air around us heats up and rises ......and also by providing heat the kinetic energy in the particles increases and tempreture also rises as the cold air is converting into hot air.......
