Restore Missing “New” to the Desktop Right-Click Menu

In the Registry Editor, go to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers.

Create a subkey named New if it doesn't already exist.

With the New key selected, double-click (default) in the right pane.
