The fringe width in Young's double slit experiment is given by ,

β=Dλ/d

where , D= distance of screen from slits

d= distance between slits

λ= wavelength of the light used

It is clear from formula that ,

β∝λ

Now , if yellow light is used instead of violet light , we know that

λy > λv

As the wavelength increases due to yellow light , therefore fringe width will increase.
