★ Given:

A classroom contains 2 doors of length 2m and breadth 1m.

It also has 4 windows of length 100 cm.

★ To Find:

The total area of doors and windows present in the classroom.

★ Solution:

Area of 1 door

Length = 2m

Breadth = 1m

Area of a rectangle = lb

= 2 x 1 = 2m²

So total area of 2 doors = 2 x 2 = 4 m²

Area of 1 window

Length of one side = 100 cm = 1 m

Area of a square = a²

= 1 x 1

= 1 m²

So area of 4 square windows = 4 x 1 = 4 m².

Therefore:

Total area of windows and doors in the class room = 4 + 4

= 8 m²

★ Formulae Used

→ Area of a rectangle = lb

→ Area of a square = a²
